Period-performance expertise and coaching

THE BRIEF

The director had chosen extras – not many of whom musicians - for a medieval folk band. Our task was to lend our expertise on the appropriate instruments for the period, and to make sure the extras were able to perform with them authentically.

THE RESULT

As a period-performance specialist, Kathleen coached the extras to mime effectively for their scene, taking in movement, rhythm, and technique. 

Over a tight two-day prep schedule, she worked with the props department for set-up, prepared the extras, and helped the scene run smoothly. 

Following the execution, the Music in Vision team were asked to provide historical trumpeters, and a body/hand double for one of the main actors, playing the organ.
